Wow, what a day! So not too far away from Appalachicola there’s a place I read about where several old timer cars are out in the open rusting away. Being near, it was something I didn’t want to miss. We’d already seen some cool cars this morning.
After a cracking nights kip and waking up to a fantastic sea view, it was time get cracking.
We wanted to get some miles down and headed out on the road a earlier than usual. The roads are pretty straight and easy going. After a while we stopped off at Bishops coffee shop.
We set off from Foley and headed east to Pensacola, Florida. We’d been told there was a great Naval Air Force base to visit plus it was near our hotel we were going to be staying at [More on that later].
After a couple days feeling jet lagged, we set off from Mobile to the Battleship Park where the USS Alabama (ship) and USS Drum (submarine) are based.
